Cardiac CTA: Beyond the Basics

Important to Note: The material in this course is a portion of the material covered in our 7-day 'Cardiac CTA: Complete Level 2 Certification' course. Therefore, it is suggested that physicians take this 2-day course only if: 1) they do not need the complete L2 course, OR 2) if they are seeking a CT refresher course.
This course is designed for cardiologists and radiologists who are ready to start interpreting cardiac CT studies and/or are looking for a refresher cardiac CT course. Through a graduated presentation over 100 cases, the attendee will gain the confidence needed to begin using this new modality in daily practice. Course objectives summary:
- Define and discuss the basic principles of CT
- Discuss CT technology: EBT vs. MDCT
- Discuss methods of selection for contrast mediums
- Review CT lab requirements
- Examine clinical indications for Cardiac CT
- Discuss techniques of MDCT: protocols and patient preparation
- Define and discuss coronary calcium scoring
- Discuss clinical decision approach to interpretation and reporting
- Will have reviewed 100 cardiac CTA cases (contrast and non-contrast)
