Cardiac CTA: For Technologists & RNs
|

This course offers technologists and RNs an opportunity to become comfortable with Cardiac CTA procedures. Participants will observe a fast paced clinical setting at Tennessee Heart & Vascular Institute's Imaging Center. Under the direction of Tracy Q. Callister, M.D., F.A.C.C., this staff has performed over 5,000 studies since 2005 using the GE Lightspeed VCT 64-slice scanner.
This course will provide:
- Basic knowledge of Cardiac CT scanning techniques
- Calcium scoring training
- Workstation basics appropriate to individual roles (tech, RN)
- Discussion of patient preparation and patient flow
- IV tips and techniques
- Strategies for beta blocker administration and other meds

Open environment offering plenty of Q&A, enabling the course to be tailored to meet the needs of each attendee

Opportunity to view several live cases

Kit including all relevant protocols and patient documentation used at Tennessee Heart & Vascular Institute's Imaging Center
